Over the past few years, I’ve been honored to attend the yearly Colorado Fall Color Tour that Rick Louie hosts. It started out as just a fun adventure that has blossomed into two great friends transporting tour participants across some of the most beautiful places that Colorado has to offer. We now share driving responsibilities while chasing fall colors and gorgeous light.
The 2016 tour was something I desperately needed. My wife had recently lost her job (she was the bread winner for us), my step-father had just passed away, and my truck met its untimely end just days before I was supposed to drive to Colorado. I was struggling just to get through a day. Thankfully, I have a supportive wife, and some wonderful friends who helped get me out to Colorado on extremely short notice.
The 2016 tour saw us taking participants all around the Aspen area. Rick and I then spent a few days on our own looking for new areas to photograph in future tours. It was just over a week of roaming the Rockies and being in a land I adore. I hope that I get to continue enjoying this tour in the future!
